Social Impact Financing Meeting

 

UNDP in conjunction with the Lanka Impact Investor Network (LIIN) held a meeting on the 19th of April to establish the country’s first indigenous social impact fund (SIF). The meeting took place at the UN Compound in Colombo.

 

It is in this connection that the UN SDG Impact Finance (UNSIF) unit of the UNDP is undertaking a mission to Sri Lanka to evaluate the ground situation and prepare a plan for the SIF implementation. The mission comprising of 4 officials from Bangkok regional hub will be in Colombo from 17-25 April. Together with their local colleagues they will hold wide range of consultations with the key interlocutors in government (including financial regulators), private sector (including equity funds, banks, angel funds) and other institutions.

 

Those who participated from the GCNSL members included Dialog, Dilmah and MAS. The GCNSL Network Representative, Azam Bakeer Markar also participated at this event.
